VHDtool make create a large Fixed VHD file easier

Create a large fixed VHD in Hyper-V can make ITpro be crazy waiting. and there is no workaround in Hyper-V. A Tool called VHDTool can help you on this. It can create a large fixed VHDs in seconds.

solution

change rd session host server settings from netbios name to fqdn name.

test

connected.

 

hyper-v 2008 can not connect VM due to authentication certificate si expired or invalid.

KB967902 hotfix download http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?familyId=289c831c-9142-4c00-bacd-6c1924ff0ecc&displayLang=en Need reboot.

you need save all VMs before reboot.

 

something you should care when virtualized domain controller

1- virtualized domain controller need almost same policy as phiyiscal servers. inclued hardware resourse , backup policy ect

2- read Micorsoft recommed practice article like Considerations when hosting Active Directory domain controller in virtual hosting environments

3- it is better not to virtualized PDC. as pdc is the most important role in a domain. if you virtualized PDC do configure that virtual machine not sync time from host machine in settings.

4- do not use snapshot as backup or failover mathod! snapshot will make you crazy after restore the virtualized domain controller.

5- please use at least one Domain Controller in physical to avoid virual infrastructure failed.

 

使用hyper-v management console进行虚拟机的批量复制

我使用的是windows 2008 r2，由于总所周知的原因，此版本已经不支持newsid了，所以使用差异磁盘+newsid的操作方式做出来的虚拟机会自然的蓝屏。hyper-v默认就不支持虚拟机的克隆。而相应的功能由Scvmm来提供。hyper-v默认有import和export功能，但是import只能导入一个虚拟机一次，所以就需要重复的使用export和import功能来实现人肉批量复制。当然还是建议使用SCVMM r2来实现该功能。

1- 安装虚拟机

windows 2008 r2 大约30分钟。

2- 对安装好的虚拟机执行sysperp

运行sysprep.exe，按照下图选择

3-导出该虚拟机

等待关机后，执行导出操作。

导出后，你可以看到该文件夹内有下列文件

几乎完全和原先的虚拟机一样。

4-导入该虚拟机

注意，这里需要将文件目录选择到深入一层的地方。比如之前是test02，那么现在就得选择test02\te-scvmm-01了。

完成后会有如上的报警，可以忽略。

5-修改虚拟机的配置

这是一个可选项目，目的是为了容易分辨。

直接登陆复制后的虚拟机。

登陆虚拟机后，进入sysprep文件夹，你会发现创建好的虚拟机多了一个tag。

6-导入多台虚拟机

重复步骤3-5，以导入更多的虚拟机。

 

7- 测试多个虚拟机的状态

可以发现导入的多台虚拟机的主机名，sid都已经修改。
